Brutal yet refined, this little tarmac pounder has stepped up the motorcycle game. BOOK A TEST RIDE DIGNIFIED BEHEMOTH We wanted to make the Mastiff the king of the Mutts, so with that in mind, we decided to add a little love here and there to make him a little different yet still retain that unmistakable outline of a Mutt Motorcycle. ​ First up is that monster tank designed specifically for the Mastiff and the GT-SS. We wanted to keep the classic tank shape but add a helping of steroids, so we boosted the size to 17 litres. Sitting on the Mastiff and looking down at the huge tank is a beautiful sight. We topped the tank off with a neat Monza style chrome cap for that classic British vibe. 1/1 'DETAILS, DETAILS, DON'T BOTHER ME WITH DETAILS' We've gone a step further with the detailing on the Mastiff. ​ Upfront we have a super-wide deep tread tyre wrapped around a black rim 18" with stainless spokes, cropped brushed aluminium mudguard, headlight grill and our beautiful stainless steel mini speedometer topped off with a set of anodised black Mutt bars. ​ Look closer and you'll see some super neat little details. We've got those super cool machined LED indicators, CNC machined headlight brackets, fork caps and head stem nut and those oh so pretty black anodised handlebar clamps. Looks pretty neat eh? ​ Moving along the bike we’ve gone for a custom flat black and flat silver paint job accentuating the shape of that hefty tank, we've continued the paint theme on to the side panels. The contoured diamond stitch tan seat and grips set off the paint a treat. GETTING LOW Get low down on the bike and you'll see our raw satin-finished stainless steel exhaust system and as you probably already know... that's what makes a Mutt bark like it does. We've also got a new heavy-duty aluminium sump guard on there, oh and you'll also see we have some funky little CNC valve covers and oil filler cap on there too… details, details. ​ Heading to the rear we have a matching 18" rear wheel and tyre, a shortened brushed aluminium mudguard and our tidy little Aluminium LED tail light. ALL IN THE DETAIL We've been busy with some sheet metal work, the angular sump guard and matching rear master cylinder cover gives the bikes a lower-slung more aggressive look, Bruce Wayne would be proud of them. ​ Sat in our twin shock tube frame the bullet proof 4-stroke engine is fuel injected for extra poke and of course, this Mutt has a 5-speed box, neutral indicator, electric start and everything else you would expect to find on the controls of a modern bike. ​ The Mastiff is the big dog of small cc machines, perfect for city carving or bending around country lanes alike. Meanest Monoshock on the Market Mutt Motorcycles has delivered another thump on the nose to the Motorcycle industry by releasing our snarling Razorback onto the city streets. ​ Featuring a brand new monoshock frame designed in-house at Mutt, the Razorback casts a different shadow to our fat bikes. Like all our bikes, this new frame has custom and classic roots. No ugly pressed aluminium - just a good solid tubular frame with a beautifully simple rear loop. 1/4 Get The Skinny As with all our 125’s the Razorback is powered by our super-solid four-stroke black number and a Delphi fuel injection system, fed by our custom skinny tank. Oh, the tank? Yep, that’s another new item specific to the Razorback. Have you ever tried to mount an old 70’s tank to your one-off custom build? You have? Then you’ll be familiar with welding on new tabs, removing dents, blowing holes through the tank with your trusty TIG welder and all the other aggro that comes with fitting vintage parts to bikes. Trust us - we’ve done a bunch of them. ​ With that in mind for a production bike, for the Razorback we designed our own tank, taking influences from the many vintage tanks we have fitted to over the last 20 years. We took styling cues from several vintage bikes, but it is all Mutt, and has that one-off custom vibe you’ll never get from any other production bikes. I Can See For Miles Moving upfront, we have our low-rise Mutt Handlebars and a black contoured slimline seat. The Razorback is a tall bike, and with a seat height of 88cm, it gives the rider a great upright riding position and the ability to have a clear view above traffic. It’s an absolute blast to ride - chucking this little fella into corners will bring induce a bug faced grin to any fizzog. ​ Inverted forks held by wide yokes help soak up the bumps on the potholed city streets and country tracks, and another 18” aluminium rim with stainless spokes sits up front shod with fat rubber in the Mutt way. ROCK SOLID The Akita looks like it could have been carved out of a solid block of hardest granite. ​ Undeniable Mutt DNA runs through the Akita front to back, but we've added a few twists to turn it into this ultimate pavement-pounding pooch. 1/4 BUILD LIKE A TANK Starting with the twin-shock frame and four-stroke single-cylinder power-plant, the Akita rolls on 18" wheels with stainless steel spokes and black aluminium rims wrapped in deep tread knobbly rubber for that all-important Mutt stance. Rear gas shocks help keep the Akita chassis planted firmly on the blacktop. ​ The first thing that hits you firmly on the schnozz is that tank - and what a tank! That's 17 litres of rectangular goodness right there, and it gives the Akita a full-on super-pumped stance. Just like Big John 'broad at the shoulder and narrow at the hip, and everyone knows you didn't give him no lip'. ​ With such a big tank we made a new beautiful low-profile shortened custom tan seat. This is the shortest seat of all our bikes and really helps showcase the mighty fuel vessel. BIG DOG DETAIL Look in more detail around the bike you will see some other neat touches you won't have seen before. Starting at the pointy end, you will see those beautiful, handmade brushed TIG welded stainless steel mudguard brackets. The 250 cc air-cooled single-cylinder is housed in our tubular twin shock frame and is slightly bigger with a longer swingarm compared to our 125's and of course, the 250 has a lot more grunt, a perfect machine for carving up inner-city traffic or just as at home slamming through the twists and turns of the countryside. Running narrower Tracker handlebars for an upright aggressive riding position, it’s perfect for hacking through the city traffic and that super bright halogen headlight lights up the road ahead with ease from behind the matt black grill.
